Dry Head Spa vs. Wet Head Spa: How to Pick

    Short answer

A dry head spa uses no water and no shampoo, so you can return to work with your hair exactly as it was. A wet head spa adds warm water cleansing, a scalp treatment and conditioning, which delivers the deeper scalp reset.

Every guest booking a first head spa asks the same question: do I need the one with water?

The honest answer is that it depends on your schedule and your goal. Here is the plain comparison.

What happens in a dry head spa

A dry head spa is performed by our massage therapist and focuses on the scalp, face, neck and upper body. No water, no product residue, no restyling. It increases blood flow to the scalp and releases the tension most people hold in the temples, jaw and base of the skull.

What happens in a wet head spa

Our wet services build from relaxation focused to fully clinical. The relaxation focused option pairs a scalp, neck and upper body massage with a hair mask, shampoo and conditioning under warm water and our signature halo ring.

The treatment focused options begin with a scalp analysis so your provider can select products for your specific concern, then work through exfoliation, deep cleansing, a scalp mask and massage. Our most complete ritual adds a mini facial and extended upper body massage.

    Planning around hair color

If you color your hair, book your head spa at least 48 to 72 hours before or after your color appointment. A head spa cleanses thoroughly and opens the cuticle, which can affect how color takes.

    Frequently asked questions

Does a dry head spa still work?

Yes. A dry head spa delivers the circulation and tension relief benefits of scalp work without water. It simply does not include the cleansing, exfoliation and conditioning steps of a wet service.

Will my hair be wet when I leave a wet head spa?

Your hair is washed, conditioned and towel dried. Most guests plan to restyle at home, so we recommend the wet service when you are not heading straight into a meeting or event.

Which head spa is best for hair thinning?

A wet head spa that includes a scalp analysis. Removing buildup, balancing oil production and improving circulation creates a healthier environment for hair, and consistency over several sessions matters more than any single visit.

Can men book a head spa?

Yes. Head spa is popular with men in Wentzville and across St. Charles County, especially the dry service for tension and the treatment focused wet services for dandruff and dry scalp.
