Head Spa vs. Facial: Which One Should You Book?

    Short answer

Book a head spa when your scalp, hair or stress level is the priority. Book a facial when your face and skin are the priority. If you want both, our head spa and facial bundle covers scalp and skin in a single visit.

These two treatments get compared constantly, and for good reason: both are relaxing, both are customized to you, and both are performed by licensed professionals. The difference comes down to what they actually work on.

A head spa is scalp and hair care. A facial is skin care for the face. Here is how to decide, and when it makes more sense to book both together.

What a head spa actually does

Our head spa treatments are inspired by traditional Japanese scalp therapy. Depending on the service, your provider may start with a scalp analysis, then move through cleansing, exfoliation, a nourishing scalp treatment, warm water rinsing under our halo ring, and an extended scalp, neck and upper body massage.

The result is twofold. Your scalp is decongested and rebalanced, which supports healthier hair. And your nervous system gets a long, uninterrupted break, which is why most guests describe it as the most relaxed they have been in months.

    What a facial actually does

A custom facial is built around your skin on the day you come in. Cleansing, exfoliation, extractions when appropriate, targeted serums, masking and massage are combined to address your specific concerns, then your esthetician sends you home with a plan.

Because skin cycles roughly every four to six weeks, facials work best as a series rather than a one time event.

Can you do both in one visit?

Yes, and it is one of our most requested combinations. A head spa and facial bundle lets you handle scalp and skin back to back without a second trip, and it flows naturally: scalp work first, skin work second.

If you are visiting from O'Fallon, St. Peters, St. Charles or Lake Saint Louis, the bundle is usually the better use of the drive.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a head spa better than a facial?

Neither is better, they treat different areas. A head spa treats the scalp, hair and stress response. A facial treats the skin on your face. Choose based on your primary concern, or book both together in one visit.

Will a head spa help my facial results?

They complement each other. A head spa improves circulation through the scalp, forehead and neck and relieves tension, which pairs well with the lymphatic and massage work in a facial.

Should I get a head spa before or after a facial?

Head spa first, facial second. That order keeps water and product away from freshly treated skin and lets you finish the visit with clean, calm skin.

How often should I book each one?

Head spa every two to four weeks for scalp health and stress relief. Facials every four to six weeks to match your skin cycle. Memberships are built around that rhythm.
